Hit landmines, call in orbital strikes, and smack your opponents with a golf club in Super Battle Golf, the latest hit indie game that may be (lovingly) added to the friendslop rotation. Released by Brimstone just a few short weeks ago, the game has already found a dedicated player base for cartoon-y golfing antics.
Super Battle Golf has everything one could ask for in a sub $10 game, like colorful custom characters, a unique art style, and proximity voice chat, putting it alongside games like R.E.P.O., Peak, and Phasmophobia.
Super Battle Golf makes golf anything but boring

Super Battle Golf has one simple objective: get your ball into the hole (ideally before your competitors).
How you go about achieving that goal is entirely up to you, which grants total freedom to either focus on smacking your ball as many times as is necessary to finally be rid of it or by turning your club against your fellow players and smacking them as many times as is necessary too. Items to be used include air horns, landmines, golf carts, and explosive golf balls to distract or prevent anyone from reaching the hole first.
What makes Super Battle Golf singularly addictive is that it’s online and can host up to eight players in a game, which means you can jump in with any number of random players to engage in golf related chaos. There’s nothing like the sweet sound of hitting an explosive towards the hole and hearing the screams and groans of players as their golf balls go flying out of the map. There are also private servers available, so you can limit the golf-related crimes to close friends.
The total free-for-all style of Super Battle Golf means that anything can happen in a match, and with the offensive and defensive tools available across the course alongside proximity voice chat, it’s sure to be chaotic.
400,000 copies sold in the first week

Super Battle Golf has already proven itself a popular indie title, selling over 400,000 copies in its first week, according to a post by the developers. With this milestone comes news on future updates for the game. The first big news is that a new biome is being developed to join the 27 other courses available, alongside a port to consoles (which, exactly, hasn’t been specified).
Other various quality of life updates, new cosmetics, and achievements are coming as well, which hopefully means even more chaotic situations for players to deal with. New items may or may not include a rocket powered golf club. You’ve been warned.
