Sunshine and blue skies set for Liverpool this week

There will be plenty of sunshine across the region over the next few days.

According to the Met Office it will be mostly dry with sunny spells in Liverpool. The Met Office reports that due to clear skies it will feel chilly, with highs of just 6C.

For some areas there may be scattered showers but they won't last long, leaving just light winds. It will stay dry into the evening of Tuesday, January 2, with some cloud building overnight.

On Tuesday, wind and rain will clear to brighter weather briefly, although patchy rain will return by the afternoon. For the rest of the week it will be unsettled with showers but it will warm up towards the weekend, with highs of 10C and 11C.

The BBC weather outlook for Wednesday to Friday reads: "Wednesday will see a cloudy start with spells of light rain. Turning drier in the afternoon sunny spells developing. Dull and wet conditions on Thursday.

"Overcast skies, with spells of persistent rain moving in from the west through the day. Dry conditions of Friday morning with variable cloud and sunny spells. A cloudy afternoon with spells of heavy rain towards the evening."
