Suns to Evaluate Kevin Durant’s Ankle Injury in Two Weeks, per Report

A day after Kevin Durant injured his ankle during pre-game warmups, the Suns have a bit firmer grasp on a timeline for when the star forward might return.

Durant will be re-evaluated in two weeks, and his eventual comeback to the court will be depended on how the rehab process goes, according to The Athletic‘s Shams Charania. The swelling in Durant’s ankle has gone down since the incident on Wednesday night.

The injury occurred minutes before Durant was set to make his home debut for Phoenix. He eventually left Footprint Center in a walking boot, with some within the organization reportedly concerned that the injury could keep him out for the rest of the regular season—and perhaps the start of the playoffs.

In three games with the Suns, Durant has averaged 26.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game on a blistering 69.0% shooting from the field. Phoenix has won all three games with Durant in the lineup, and currently hold the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference.
