He doesn't believe he's the man to fill the Ben King-shaped hole in Gold Coast's forward line by himself but Suns recruit Levi Casboult has quickly made his mark at the AFL club.
Moving to Queensland after 154 games and 10 seasons at Carlton, Casboult has kicked nine goals in his first five appearances for the Suns.
Along with fellow recruit Mabior Chol (10 goals), the duo have gone a long way to filling the void left following King's ACL injury in February which ruled the key forward out of the entire 2022 campaign.
King booted 47 goals in 2021 to be the Suns' leading goalkicker by some margin from Josh Corbett (23) and Alex Sexton (21).
Casboult is happy to be leading the line at his new club but says finding the goals in King's absence will be a group effort.
"When a guy like that goes down ... 47 goals last year. So you've got to find that somewhere," Casboult told AAP.
"He's a very good player and it doesn't take one it takes the collective to take up that load.
"I'm rapt to be here and be a part of taking up that load and doing what I can to help the team. It's been a good start so far."
King's injury has meant Casboult is arguably already the Suns' main forward target despite his newly-arrived status at the club.
It means he's almost certain to face up against Brisbane's two-time All-Australian defender Harris Andrews or in-form Marcus Adams in Sunday's derby at Metricon Stadium.
Taking on that responsibility is something Casboult is relishing at his new home however.
"You love playing on the best," he said.
"We played Carlton a couple of weeks ago and I was excited by the opportunity to play on Weiters (Jacob Weitering). Obviously played on him a lot at training but that's only a small sample size.
"So I was excited by the challenge of playing on one of the best key backs for a whole game and the same happens again this week. Harris Andrews, All-Australian. Marcus Adams is in great form.
"I'm looking forward to the challenge of what they throw at me."
Casboult is also impressed by what he's seen in his short time at the Suns, believing the club is not far away from finally cracking its way into the upper reaches of the competition.
"It's a very driven group and I don't think the results have yet reflected the work that the boys are putting in," he said.
"We've got the list ready to go, it's just now about all putting it together.
"Consistency is the main part ... not just for half a game or one week on, one week off."
