KOLKATA: As the Indian women's hockey team faces off against Australia in their third match of Pro League at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday, one player who will be in focus besides the team's penalty corner specialists is Sunelita Toppo.
The 16-year-old from Odisha's Sundergarh district, who broke into the senior camp in April last year, made her debut in the junior team during the junior Asia Cup two months later and quickly rose through the ranks and last week made an impressive debut for the senior team in the FIH Pro League against China. She also had a great game against the Netherlands and one hopes she can continue in the same vein against Australia, who will be starting the game as clear favourites.
