Sunderland told exciting loan duo can handle Championship football

Sunderland new boys Eduoard Michut and Amad Diallo have been backed to handle Championship-level football following their late transfer window moves to Wearside. The Black Cats swooped for PSG midfielder Michut and Manchester United's Diallo in the final stages of the summer window, in moves which have excited fans.

Both players arrived on loan deals, with Michut looking for gametime after making eight appearances for PSG in his fledgling career. Diallo spent last season on loan with Rangers in Scotland, and made his Sunderland debut as a second-half substitute in last Monday's 1-0 defeat at Middlesbrough.

Both players were significant signings for the Wearsiders, with the only potential downside being their lack of experience at such young ages, Michut aged 19 and Diallo now 20. However, former Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United midfielder Carlton Palmer believes both have already shown they have the ability to deal with Championship football.

“Two young players. One from Manchester United, the other from Paris Saint Germain, very talented midfield players, pretty much of the ilk of the way that Sunderland have gone with the young players that they’ve got at the football club," Palmer told Football League World.

“So, we’ll have to see. Both are talented players, both should be able to comfortably handle the level and as I say, I hope Tony Mowbray does really, really well at Sunderland.”

While Diallo will be in contention for the game with Reading on Wednesday night, Michut is a little behind his fellow new signing after picking up a slight strain.
