Sunderland's agent fees confirmed by FA as report releases latest figures

Sunderland have spent £718,450 on intermediary fees over the past year, the sixth lowest in the entire Championship.

The Black Cats have made 12 permanent transfers in between February 1, 2022 and January 31, 2023 - the period in which the Football Association's Intermediary Fees and Transactions report falls under.

Transactions completed over those 12 months include the likes of Jewison Bennette and Ajibola Alese as well as Premier League loanees Amad Diallo and Ellis Simms.

The team that spent the most on fees were Norwich City, whose £4,381,189 is over six times the amount that the Black Cats payed out to agents over the past year.

The full sum of £718,450, which is more than double of the £310,244 from February 2, 2021 to January 31, 2022, also accounts for updated contracts, new youth registrations, scholarship applications as well as any international loan moves the club have opted for be those in or out of the Stadium of Light.

The fees are the most for the club since the £1,346,373 they spent in the 2019-20 season and the £2,873,033 in the season prior to that as the club dealt with their back-to-back relegations from the Premier League and Championship.

Reading were the teams that payed the least, as they only coughed up £200,323, almost 22 times less than what the Canaries had to at the top of the list.
