Carlton Palmer believes that the £15million price tag placed on Jack Clarke by Sunderland is fair market value, amid increased interest from the Premier League.
Numerous top flight sides have been linked with the 22-year-old this summer, and it was reported that newly promoted side Burnley sent a £7m bid a few weeks ago. Sunderland believe Clarke, who recorded 11 goals and 13 assists this season, is worth at least double that.
Clarke enjoyed a fantastic season for Tony Mowbray’s side last season and fired the newly promoted side to the play-offs.

Pundit and ex England player Palmer had his say on the situation in an interview with Football League World, detailing how Sunderland are in control of Clarke’s destiny.
“Sunderland have made it clear they do not want to sell their best young players, but they are aware that every player has a price," he told Football League World.
"Jack is under contract for another three years, so Sunderland are in the driving seat and they have said that would accept an offer of around £15 million. So in today's market, I would say £10-15 million for Jack is more than a fair price."
Sunderland do not want to lose the winger this summer, as they look to push for promotion next season.
With the loan of Amad Diallo over and the possibility the Ivorian is unlikely to return next season, Sunderland do not want to go into the window needing to replace two of their most influential players from last season.
But should Clarke push for a move to the Premier League, Sunderland are unlikely to stand in his way should their valuation be met.
