Sunderland man jailed for breaching restraining order after being seen 'jumping out of window'

A Sunderland man has been jailed for breaching a restraining order once again after police saw him jumping out of an upstairs window.

Connor Dulson was given a 10-month sentence in January 2020 as well as a restraining order banning him from contacting an underage girl who he had been seeing. However, the 22-year-old has breached the restraining order on previous occasions following the conviction, and was hauled back in front of a judge on Friday after breaching the order once again.

Durham Crown Court heard that police went to a Crook address on April 7, this year, where Dulson was seen "jumping out of an upstairs window and then running away". The teenager the restraining order relates to had turned 18-years-old by the time the breach committed and was found inside the flat. Dulson was later arrested and gave no reply in interview.

The court was told that Dulson had previously been dealt with for breaching the restraining order in August 2020 and April 2021.

Shaun Dryden, prosecuting, told the court that the now-adult woman had indicated she was in a relationship with Dulson and had been texting and visiting him. He added that there was a suggestion she wanted the order lifted.

Speaking of the woman Dulson is currently banned from contacting, Mr Walker, defending, said: "She has made some initial approaches to lift the restraining order." He added that contact between them had "not been initiated" by Dulson.

Judge James Adkin, the Recorder of Durham, said it was a "slightly unusual case" and said the woman involved had since turned 18. He said: "If you want a relationship you have to get rid of the restraining order. She has to come to court to make an application to revoke the restraining order."

Dulson, of Mowbray Road, Sunderland, was jailed for eight weeks for breaching the restraining order.
