Jamie Cannon: Body found in search for missing Scots teen as family told
The family of a young man who went missing nine months ago have been informed following the discovery of a body at a former explosives factory in Ayrshire .
Jamie Cannon, then 19, left his home in Saltcoats to head to college on May 20 last year.
He was last seen at Auchenharvie Golf Course, Stevenston, at around 10.40am that morning.
Despite police searches and appeals from his family, Jamie has never been found.
On Saturday evening police said the body of the man, who has yet to be identified, was found that afternoon.

Vladimir Putin puts Russia's nuclear deterrent on high alert as tensions mount over Ukraine invasion
Russia’s nuclear deterrent has been put on high alert by President Vladimir Putin as tensions rise with the West.
Days into his country’s widely-condemned invasion of Ukraine , Putin said the deterrent would be put into a “special regime of combat duty.”
Russia has been attacking Ukraine for days - in spite of demands by the international community to stop.
Reports have suggested his invasion is not proceeding as planned and he escalated the tensions at a meeting with his top officials.
Larbert 'gas explosion' aftermath as devastating images show home burnt out
Shocking pictures show the devastating aftermath of a suspected gas explosion which destroyed a family home in a Larbert street.
The semi-detached property on Broomage Crescent was gutted by the powerful blast on Saturday afternoon.
The windows of the two-storey house blew out from the force of the explosion and roof and walls caved in as the inferno ripped through the home.

Exiled Russian billionaire living in Scots castle says west must not fear Putin
A Russian billionaire who lives in a Scots castle said the West must stop being afraid of Vladimir Putin .
And he added that the Russian president is turning into a modern-day Adolf Hitler.
Dr Boris Mints – previously seen as a key Putin ally – described the war in Ukraine as “the most tragic event of the 21st century”.
The businessman and philanthropist, who has an estimated £1billion fortune, said justification for the invasion was “outright lies”.

Two men rushed to hospital after being found injured on Scots street
Two men have been taken to hospital after being found injured on a street in Fife.
Police were called to the scene in Queen’s Crescent, Markinch, at around 2pm on Saturday, February 26.
The duo were both rushed to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy for treatment.
