Sunak writes to family of jailed Alaa Abd El-Fattah, who fear he could die in Egypt before COP27 summit ends

The family of a writer imprisoned in Egypt have stressed the need for urgency, after Prime Minister Rishi Runak assured them he will raise their plight while visiting the country for the Cop27 summit.

British-Egyptian activist Alaa Abd El-Fattah has been imprisoned in Cairo since 2006 over his pro-democracy writing.
