The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of summer storms affecting upper Thailand, anticipating thunderstorms and gusty winds from Thursday to Saturday.
In its second warning issued on Wednesday morning, the department said upper Thailand is expected to experience summer storms with thunderstorms, strong winds, lightning and possible hail in some areas between April 23-25.
The storms will initially affect the North, the Northeast and the East, before extending to the Central Plains, including Bangkok and its vicinity, at a later stage, the department said.
The weather conditions are due to a high-pressure system from China, extending over the Northeast and the South China Sea, while upper Thailand continues to experience generally hot to extremely hot conditions.
