Summer Nights at the Bandstand - everything you need to know about the Kelvingrove festival

The summer of music will be continuing next week as the Summer Nights at the Bandstand returns to Kelvingrove Park for the first time in two years.

Organisers have pulled together an incredible line-up of acts that will be taking to the Kelvingrove Bandstand and Amphitheatre stage between July 27 and August 13.

Since launching in 2014, Summer Nights festival has become one of the most popular of its kind in the city and scooped the Unesco City of Music Best Live Event at the Scottish Music Awards in 2017.

Are there still tickets available?

A lot of the shows are already sold-out after being carried over from pre-pandemic times. However, there are still tickets left for some shows including The Jesus & Mary Chain, Richard Hawley and Rufus Wainwright.

Tickets vary in price with the average being around £40-£50.

Is it an outdoor or indoor event?

While the stage is mostly covered, the event has seats (but standing is allowed and encouraged) and is outside. While we've been treated to some wonderfully warm weather recently, we advise keeping an eye on the forecast and being prepared for all weathers.

Will there be bars and food stalls?

There are usually a number of bars set up near the entrances of the venue as well as a few places to grab food. However, one of the best parts of the festival is that it's in the heart of the west end with tons of bars and restaurants nearby.
