Sugar Prices Weighed Down by Abundant Global Supplies

March NY world sugar #11 (SBH26) today is down -0.21 (-1.45%), and March London ICE white sugar #5 (SWH26) is down -4.60 (-1.12%).

Sugar prices are sliding today, but remain above Monday's significant lows. The outlook for global sugar surpluses to persist is weighing on prices. On Wednesday, analysts from sugar trader Czarnikow said they expect a global sugar surplus of 3.4 MMT in the 2026/27 crop year, following an 8.3 MMT surplus in 2025/26.
