March NY world sugar #11 (SBH27) is up +0.85 (+4.49%) today, and December London ICE white sugar #5 (SWZ26) is up +21.20 (+4.18%).

Sugar prices are surging today, with NY sugar posting a 1.5-year nearest-futures high and London sugar posting a 2-week high. Weather risks are prompting fund buying of sugar futures today. Rain forecasts for Brazil’s Center-South main sugar-growing region over the next week could potentially disrupt cane crushing by Brazil’s sugar mills, curbing sugar supplies.
