July NY world sugar #11 (SBN25) Monday closed down -0.07 (-0.40%), and August London ICE white sugar #5 (SWQ25) closed down -0.60 (-0.12%).
Sugar prices on Monday gave up an early advance and closed lower, with NY sugar falling to a 1-week low. Expectations for a global sugar surplus have weighed on sugar prices over the past week. Last Wednesday, consultant Datagro projected a 2025/26 global sugar surplus of +1.53 MMT, recovering sharply from a 2024/25 global sugar deficit of -4.67 MMT. Meanwhile, StoneX projects a 2025/26 global sugar surplus of +3.74 MMT.
