Sugar Prices Sharply Higher as Funds Close Out Short Positions

March NY world sugar #11 (SBH26) on Friday closed up +0.34 (+2.35%), and March London ICE white sugar #5 (SWH26) closed up +9.60 (+2.31%).

Sugar prices settled sharply higher on Friday due to short-covering as funds closed out short positions ahead of the year-end Christmas and New Year's holidays, a time of thin trading and reduced liquidity.
