Sugar Prices Retreat on the Outlook for a Global Sugar Surplus

March NY world sugar #11 (SBH25) today is down -0.16 (-0.81%), and March London ICE white sugar #5 (SWH25) is down -5.30 (-1.00%).

Sugar prices today retreated from a 7-week high and are moderately lower.  The outlook for a global sugar surplus is undercutting prices after Green Pool Commodity Specialists projected the global sugar market will shift to a surplus of +2.7 MMT in the 2025/26 crop year, compared to a deficit of -3.7 MMT in 2024/25.
