Sugar Prices Rebound as Red Rot Disease Spreads in India

July NY world sugar #11 (SBN24) on Wednesday closed up +0.14 (+0.73%), and Aug London ICE white sugar #5 (SWQ24) closed up +7.50 (+1.34%).

Sugar prices Wednesday recovered from early losses and settled moderately higher when India's agricultural agency reported the spread of a fungus crop disease called red rot through India's Uttar Pradesh state, a key sugar-growing region.
