Sugar Prices Fall Back as Dry Brazil Weather Should Aid Sugar Harvest

May NY world sugar #11 (SBK23) on Friday closed down -0.42 (-1.66%), and Aug London white sugar #5 (SWQ23) closed down -19.30 (-2.77%).

Sugar prices Friday gave up early gains and closed moderately lower as forecasts for dry conditions in Brazil next week sparked long liquidation as the dry weather will allow Brazil's sugar farmers to begin harvesting a bumper crop.  On Thursday, Conab projected Brazil's 2022/23 sugar production would climb +6% y/y to 37 MMT.
