Sugar Prices Fall as Brazil Frost Risks Recede

October NY world sugar #11 (SBV25) today is down -0.18 (-1.10%), and August London ICE white sugar #5 (SWQ25) is down -7.50 (-1.56%).

Sugar prices are moderately lower today following the removal of the frost risk from weather forecasts in Brazil.  Also, an early arrival of the monsoon season in India has bolstered the outlook for a bumper sugar crop.  Rains in June were 9% above normal in India, and the India Meteorological Department has forecast above-normal rainfall for July.
