Sugar Prices Consolidate Recent Losses

March NY world sugar #11 (SBH26) on Tuesday closed up +0.08 (+0.58%), and May London ICE white sugar #5 (SWK26) closed down -3.50 (-0.87%).

Sugar prices settled mixed on Tuesday, consolidating above last week's 5.25-year lows. Mild short covering emerged in sugar futures on Tuesday amid signs that the price plunge has begun to spur demand. Several Asian sugar exporters reported emerging demand due to post-Ramadan restocking of sugar supplies.
