Sugar Price Slide on Rain Forecasts for Brazil

May NY world sugar #11 (SBK25) today is down -0.34 (-1.76%), and May London ICE white sugar #5 (SWK25) is down -4.20 (-0.78%).

Sugar prices today fell to 1-1/2 week lows as forecasted rains for Brazil eased dryness concerns and sparked long liquidation in sugar futures.  Meteorologist Climatempo has forecast widespread showers for Brazil's sugar-growing regions into next week.  Also, India plans to maintain its one-million-ton sugar export quota for the current season, easing worries about export restrictions in India, the world's second-largest sugar producer.
