Suga/Agust D release D-Day on the way

Suga -- BTS member and talented rapper, songwriter, composer and producer in his own right -- has set a release date for his latest solo album. D-Day, under Suga's pseudonym Agust D, will be available from Friday. The 10-track album completes a trilogy that began with Agust D, the performer's self-titled debut album in 2016 which was followed by D-2 in 2020.

In early April ahead of the release, Agust D dropped a music video for the song, People Pt.2, featuring a collaboration with talented Korean soloist IU. People Pt.2 is a soothing pop and hip-hop track showcasing the harmonious mingling of Agust D's rap flow and IU's mellow vocals. The song was inspired by Agust D's feelings of insecurity and loneliness during the Covid-19 pandemic. After its release, People Pt.2 topped iTunes song charts in 87 countries including the United States, Britain and Canada.

One of the most anticipated tracks on D-Day is Haegeum, the song's title is the name of a traditional Korean string instrument. Agust D is known for his adroit use of traditional Korean instruments within a modern musical context. Another track fans are looking forward to is Snooze, a collaboration with the late Ryuichi Sakamoto, a renowned Japanese composer and producer.

After the album's release, the rapper will embark on his concert tour "Suga Agust D Tour" in the US and Asia. Thai fans will have the opportunity to experience live performances of songs from D-Day during shows scheduled for June 9 to 11 at Impact Arena, with all tickets for the three concerts already sold out.

In addition to his album release, the performer's documentary Suga: Road To D-Day will debut on Friday on Disney+ Hotstar Thailand and Weverse. In the documentary, Suga takes viewers on a road trip to cities around the world including Seoul, Tokyo, Las Vegas, San Francisco and Malibu.
