Corrie legend Sue Cleaver gave her I'm A Celebrity campmates goosebumps by telling her amazing family story for the first time on Friday's episode.
The telly favourite, 59, who plays Eileen Grimshaw, joined the jungle to "have an adventure" before she turns 60.
But, she moved viewers to tears by opening up about her remarkable background, which itself is worthy of an ITV soap plot line.
Sue was born in Barnet, Herts, and studied at the Manchester Metropolitan School of Theatre before her first television appearance in an episode of A Touch of Frost.
She appeared in both Band of Gold and the film Girls' Night in 1998 alongside Julie Walters and Brenda Blethyn.
During the late 1990s, Sue also made regular appearances as Glenda in the Victoria Wood sitcom Dinnerladies.
Sue was cast as Eileen Grimshaw in 2000, shortly after a small part in the Johnny Depp and Cate Blanchett film The Man Who Cried.
As Eileen, Sue won over the hearts of the nation for her portrayal of Todd Grimshaw's mum when he struggled with his sexuality and announced he is gay.
Sue was praised by colleagues at being such a good listener that she trained to become a psychotherapist in between episodes.
Back in 2016 she said: "I've been training to be a psychotherapist and I've just had to defer my final year because of my storyline."
On Friday night, I'm a Celeb viewers saw her explain that she was adopted as a child and she first met her biological parents in an amazing coincidence.
Sue also spoke out about her two half sisters who are also in the acting business and won over fans of the ITV show for raising awareness of diabetes.
She stunned campmates by saying: "I’m adopted" and added "I had a lot of attachment disorders that started in my teens. Trying on personalities like coats. I wasn’t my authentic self.
"It was when I was at drama school, about 23, 24. And the Royal Exchange were looking for tiny little parts to be in Oedipus, that David Threlfall was doing and there was an actor in the show called Michael Harbour.
"When we walked in on the first day he turned to Dave Threlfall and went, ‘Oh my God, she’s the absolutely double of my wife when I met her.’"
Sue added: "And I’ve got two half sisters who are all in the business. Kate is huge in animation and Emma was an actress."
Her sisters are actresses Emma and Kate Harbour.
Kate stars in children's TV shows Bob the Builder and Shaun the Sheep and has also appeared in Casualty, Midsomer Murders, Heartbeat and Doctors.
Emma, who is married to former Corrie star John Bowe, starred in the soap in 2001 as Jayne Morgan.
She returned as a doctor in 2017 and then again in 2020.
Speaking about why she signed up to I'm a Celebrity, Sue said: "I was 59 in September and I just thought I'm gonna do something really out of my comfort zone.
"I just really wanted to push myself and yeah, do something completely random. So here I am.
"I don't feel it is my place to be a spokesperson for anybody really, but for myself. That's what I want to do, I want to get outside of my comfort zone.
"I feel in a good place. I feel in a really good place in myself and I think I've learned a lot about myself over the last decade.
"I'm a work in progress and I am just looking forward to moving forward and how everything unfolds."
Sue finished her remarkable story over the campfire by saying: "It’s lovely because my mum and my birth mother, we’ve all met, been out for dinner, we’ve all kept in touch.
"We’ve all had lovely relationship ever since, so it’s a nice ending. I’m very lucky."
