A Leeds United fan has been banned from attending matches for three years after he set off a smoke bomb when a goal was scored.
Joe Rose, 19, of Woodland Drive in Leeds, was a fan attending a Leeds United V Aston Villa match on February 9 this year when he tossed the smoke bomb into a lower tier containing more Leeds fans, including children. BirminghamLive reports that the smoke bomb was then thrown onto the pitch.
Prosecutor Siobhan Russell told Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Tuesday that "It was a miracle no-one was injured to be quite honest."
