These beautiful pictures show the stunning light show people can see at Liverpool Cathedral this Christmas.
'The Light Before Christmas: The Angels Are Coming!' installation opens at the cathedral tomorrow (December 2) and people have a week to see the beautiful projections. The vast interior of Liverpool Cathedral is being filled with scenes from the Nativity for the immersive art experience.
Once darkness falls, the son-et-lumière performance will bring the very first Christmas to life as angels guide the way through a carefully orchestrated sequence of light and sound artworks, depicting one of the greatest stories ever told. 'The Light Before Christmas: The Angels Are Coming!' is the work of award-winning artistic collaboration, Luxmuralis, who created the sell-out 'Space, The Universe and Everything' at Liverpool Cathedral last February.

Peter Walker, artistic director of Luxmuralis, said: "It's a huge honour to be bringing 'The Light Before Christmas: The Angels Are Coming!' to Liverpool Cathedral and we're incredibly excited about lighting up the iconic building's stunning Gothic architecture during the advent season.
"We're really looking forward to seeing visitors of all ages lose themselves in the kaleidoscopic projections and atmospheric music, which fuse together the traditional Nativity story with present day celebrations, as we depict Christmas in a modern and artistic way."
The Dean of Liverpool, The Very Revd Dr Sue Jones, said: "Advent is such a wonderful time. We're delighted to be working with Luxmuralis to bring a message of peace, joy and hope to the city with 'The Light Before Christmas: The Angels Are Coming!'. I'm sure visitors will find a sense of serenity in this a truly uplifting experience, which offers a perfect opportunity for families, friends and members of the community to come together for reflection as we are reminded of the real meaning of Christmas."
'The Light Before Christmas: The Angels Are Coming!' runs from December 2 - 9, between 4.30pm and 8.30pm. The full experience lasts around 40 minutes. Tickets must be booked in advance, either online at Ticket Quarter or by calling 0344 8000. Tickets cost £8 for adults, £6 for children with free entry for children under three. Family tickets (two adults and three children) are available at £25, plus booking fee.
