Stunning Georgian freehold in Edinburgh's city centre hits the market

A stunning 19th century townhouse in the heart of Edinburgh has hit the market, with seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

However, having hit the market for offers over £1,250,000, it certainly isn’t going to be going cheaply. The massive freehold is found in the New Town of Edinburgh, close to a number of Edinburgh’s top schools.

The huge 246 square metre property is split across four floors, from lower ground to second floor. With plenty of bedrooms, most of which feature their own en-suite bathroom, it is perfect for entertaining lots of guests or perhaps opening a B&B.

The outside of the building features a classic Georgian façade that fits in perfectly with the rest of the area. Inside, the main living room has huge windows that allow for plenty of light and lots of space for sofas.

The living room joins onto a spacious, open plan kitchen with a floating worktop island. The kitchen features all the expected modern amenities including dishwasher, gas hob and lots of storage space.

Upstairs, the bedrooms across the property are in a range of different sizes and styles, with some even having televisions already fitted to the wall. The property also comes with a backyard patio as well as a private parking space.

While it appears that the property was previously used as a hotel or B&B, the freehold's fantastic location and huge amount of space would still make it perfect for families.

Posting on property website Zoopla, the agent said: “Boasting a prime location in the New Town Conservation Area and in a World Unesco Heritage Site, this b-listed Georgian Townhouse over four floors offers its new owners all of Edinburgh's finest amenities within strolling distance.

“The early 19th century property, with its classical façade, 7-bedrooms, 7-bathrooms, private garden, and private parking space, comes with various possibilities:

“It is in an ideal location for tourism, as well as a prime residence close to the top private schools, making it equally attractive as an exclusive family home in Scotland's capital city.”
