An international study published on Monday by France’s largest food aid charity, Restos du Cœur, shows the number of people living in extreme poverty in France and other wealthy countries increased by 37 percent between 2018 and 2025.

The analysis, carried out by an international team in Europe and the United States, found that 5.5 million of the charity's beneficiaries have fallen into extremely precarious situations.
