Metrics for measuring childhood obesity and its prevalence may not be as reliable as once thought, according to a study led by Australian researchers.
The study found rates of obesity is less common in early childhood years when using a new global definition rather than Body Mass Index (BMI), which may not tell the full story about a person's health.
Researchers said findings, published on Wednesday, could lead to changes in how childhood obesity is identified and managed.
