The game was a mess but a win is a win. Thanks to a pair of defensive touchdowns the Pittsburgh Steelers were able to eek out a 26-22 win over the Cleveland Browns. Pittsburgh is now 1-1 and tied for second in the AFC North. Here are our studs and duds from the game.
Stud - EDGE T.J. Watt
Watt became the franchise’s all-time sacks leader on Monday night and turned in another exceptional game. If Watt is pushing hard for his second Defensive Player of the Year award.
Dud - RB Najee Harris
Another flat, uninspired performance by Harris as he was once again overshadowed by teammate Jaylen Warren.
Stud - WR George Pickens
Just get the man the football and good things happen. Pickens had an impressive 70-yard catch and run for a touchdown in the first half and was the best weapon Pittsburgh had on offense.
Dud - QB Kenny Pickett
We don’t know what is going on with Kenny Pickett but he is not the same player we saw in the preseason. He was tentative and seemed to once again lack confidence unless he was throwing to Pickens or Warren.
Stud - P Pressley Harvin III
After a rough start to the season, Harvin had a huge bounceback performance and was playing like a guy who wants to keep his job.
Dud - CB Levi Wallace
I appreciate the coaches wanting to give Wallace opportunities as the incumbent but he’s not playing good football and Joey Porter Jr. is there just waiting for an opportunity.
Stud - EDGE Alex Highsmith
There’s nothing like getting the scoring started on a pick-six. Highsmith was masterful again on Monday with a defensive touchdown and the strip sack that led to another.
