Which Carolina Panthers reigned through the rain on Sunday?
Here are the studs and duds from Week 15’s triumphant 9-7 victory over the Atlanta Falcons:
Stud: QB Bryce Young
The 22-year-old stood tall in the face of the Falcons defense and Mother Nature on Sunday. Young’s masterful orchestration of the game-winning 17-play, 90-yard drive punctuated one of the rookie’s most impressive showings of the campaign.
Dud: RB Miles Sanders
The Sanders stock went back down again. After a season-high 74 rushing yards in last week’s loss, the fifth-year back notched just two yards on six attempts.
Stud: RB Chuba Hubbard
The market, however, is booming for Carolina’s other back. Hubbard recorded 87 tough yards on 22 carries, keeping the offense moving and the ball secure throughout the afternoon.
Dud: Panthers pass rush
The Panthers are still having difficulties getting to opposing quarterbacks. Atlanta allowed just one hit of Desmond Ridder.
Stud: Rest of the defensive performance
Outside than their lack of sacks, the defense put forth another fine offering. They limited the Falcons to just 204 yards and forced two takeaways—a fumble recovery by outside linebacker Brian Burns and an interception by safety Xavier Woods.
Stud: K Eddy Piñeiro
What do both Panthers wins in 2023 have in common? They were clinched on walk-off field goals by Piñeiro, who booted through all three of his attempts as Carolina’s lone scorer.
