The Miami Dolphins earned their 10th victory of the season on Sunday, as they defeated the New York Jets 30-0 at Hard Rock Stadium.
Mike McDaniel’s team controlled the game on both sides of the ball from the opening kickoff and never looked back. They found the end zone three times and nailed three field goals, as they punted just four times (one was the final drive which included kneeldowns by Mike White).
As we do after every game, let’s take a look at some of those who deserve credit and some who deserve criticism. for their performances against the Jets.
STUD: LB Bradley Chubb
Chubb was a menace on Sunday, as he was making life miserable for Jets quarterbacks Zach Wilson and Trevor Siemian.
The 27-year-old finished his day with seven total tackles (two for a loss), three sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
In just 22 games with the Dolphins, Chubb already has the 10th-most forced fumbles (seven) in team history.
DUD: Team discipline
It’s hard to say there were many negatives in a game that the team won by 30 points, but penalties were an issue for the Dolphins.
Eight flags were thrown on Miami, and while not all of them were accepted, it’s an issue that could come back to bite them down the road if they don’t clean it up.
STUD: S Brandon Jones
Filling in alongside Elijah Campbell for Jevon Holland and DeShon Elliott, Jones did a great job of making the most of his opportunities on Sunday.
The former Longhorn finished the day with five tackles and two interceptions, which were a huge part of the defense keeping New York off of the scoreboard.
It’s great to see Jones thriving on the field after he suffered a torn ACL last year.
DUD: Running game
Now, we’re getting real nitpicky here. Raheem Mostert found the end zone twice, setting the Dolphins franchise single-season record for rushing touchdowns and overall touchdowns.
However, the trio of Mostert, De’Von Achane and Jeff Wilson Jr. rushed for just 79 yards on 3.04 yards per attempt.
The number may be skewed a bit because they rushed many times inside the red zone, but they still weren’t great outside of it.
STUD: WR Jaylen Waddle
Without Tyreek Hill, there were a lot of questions regarding whether or not the offense could succeed. Waddle stepped up in a big way to answer some of those.
On Sunday, he recorded eight receptions for a season-high 142 yards and a score from 60 yards out.
This performance should make the team and fans feel better if Hill can’t go next week against the Dallas Cowboys.
