Recently, a group of dedicated students from a school in Dubai embarked on a mission to clean up Al Qudra Lake, armed with grabbers, bin bags, and rubber gloves. Their efforts resulted in the impressive collection of 11 kilograms (24 pounds) of general waste and 2 kilograms (4 pounds) of cigarette butts.
Al Qudra Lake, located in the desert, is a popular spot for outdoor activities and picnics. Unfortunately, like many natural areas, it has become a target for littering and pollution. The students recognized the importance of preserving the environment and decided to take matters into their own hands.
