HYDERABAD: An 18-year-old hotel management student has been apprehended for allegedly damaging Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao's car parked in front of his house at Amberpet on Wednesday night. The accused, a neighbour of Rao, was angry with the staff of the Congress leader for asking him not to play cricket on the terrace.
V Hanumantha Rao on Thursday tweeted that unknown offenders damaged his car. Amberpet police examined CCTV footage near the spot and noticed that a youngster from a neighbouring house came out in the night with a frying pan in his hand. In the footage, it is clearly visible that the offender, waited for some time and slammed the pan into the front window of the car. A motorist travelling on the road, briefly stopped after noticing the incident, but the youngster quickly ran back into his house.
Police arrested the youngster from Bareily in Uttar Pradesh, pursuing hotel management course in the city. “He was staying with friends in a house next to the Congress leader's” Amberpet inspector (detective) H Prabhakar said.
