Kolla Bhaavan, a student from Krishna district, won first prize in AP State Under-13 Chess Championship held in Vizianagaram between October 20 and 23 in Inspiro School of Vizianagaram. The student of Visakhapatnam Akhil Prasad got the second prize in the competition in which students from all 26 districts of Andhra Pradesh participated with enthusiasm, according to the press release from Vizianagaram Chess Association president B.A. Rao and Secretary K.V. Jwala Mukhi.
Rotary Club former president Ravi K Manda gave away prizes to the winners and urged parents to encourage children to play chess which would enhance their logical thinking and make them study well too. He congratulated players Nihar Muvvala, Velugoti Yathin Reddy, Yadla Premi Radhakrishna, Modhita Reddy who also performed well in various other categories.
