BENGALURU: A 20-year-old second-year Bcom student allegedly died by suicide on Thursday. R Manoj Kumar was found hanging from the ceiling at his Nagadevanahalli residence in Jnanabharathi.
Manoj’s father Ramesh Kumar and mother Lata are private company employees. The incident came to light around 8am on Thursday when a few of Manoj’s friends called Ramesh, saying Manoj wasn’t answering their calls.
“Manoj would sleep at his (maternal) grandmother’s house next to their residence. He usually woke up around 7am and dropped his mother to office by 8am. But on Thursday, his friends called Ramesh, asking for Manoj. Ramesh went to the house and...found Manoj hanging,” said A police source.
Manoj’s mobile phone, recovered from the room, revealed he had sent a ‘sorry’ message post midnight. According to his classmates, Manoj, who hails from Mandya, was depressed for a month.
