'Struggling' Eamonn Holmes fans laugh at 'all the haters' as he poses with golden award after apology

Eamonn Holmes fans have suggested his latest achievement is a response to 'all the haters' as he was seen clutching onto an award after sharing an apology. The GB News host was out on the pink carpet this week as he attended the 2023 Tric Awards.

And it was a successful afternoon out for the broadcaster and his co-host Isabel Webster as the pair headed up on stage on behalf of the GB News team when they were presented with the Multichannel News Programme award.

However, Eamonn, who has been open with his mobility struggles following back surgery last year to help tackle the chronic pain he has been suffering for a number of years as a results of slipped discs in his back, walked onto the stage with Isabel a few seconds behind their team, leaving the star to apologise for his "struggle".

According to the Express, fellow presenter Stephen Dixon kicked off their acceptance speech, saying: "Eamonn and Isabel are coming up this way. There are two teams, we have Eamonn and Isabel during the week and then me and Ellie [Costello] and Anne Diamond at the weekend."

Looking to the side of the stage, he added: "Eamonn as we know, is struggling a bit but he will have something to say in a moment." As he managed to get to the podium, Eamonn commented: "Sorry that took a while, discs in my back, look after your back guys."

"It is a bit like real-life work Stephen is always there before me so it's the way things are. So many people talked about teamwork," he added before praising the GB News team.

The former This Morning star then took to Instagram with a selfie of himself and Isabel as he firmly kept a hold of the gold gong. "The viewers and listeners honoured us at Tric Awards with Best Breakfast Show," Eamonn typed to his followers. "It's a 7 day a week operation and we r only part of it but want u to know how much we all appreciate the connection. Hopefully see u in the morning from 6 - 9.30am."

And fans were quick to respond to the post with congratulatory messages. @cristabelmoore said: "Congratulations, you are the only Breakfast Show we watch now." @annettefisher5488 wrote: "Massive Congratulations to you all guys !! ESP you eamonnholmes I feel you have always been a truly Lovely truthful professional."

@myhebrideanlife replied: "Oh Eamonn, you’re a star, so you are! So chuffed for you all." @irishcyprus commented: "To all the haters," alongside a string of crying laughing emojis. @dina_aks_ posted: "Yessssss! Fab news. Many congratulations. You two are brilliant on GB news." @lindy.lou241 added: "Fabulous achievement! Woohoo Eamon!"

It comes just a couple of weeks after Eamonn clapped back at those turning on him over his outspoken views on the Phillip Schofield scandal after they appeared to spot a fresh 'swipe'. The 63-year-old has been more than vocal with his thoughts on the headlines involving his former colleague.

Phillip, 61, quit This Morning last month before later stepping back from ITV altogether after admitting to lying to his co-host and friend Holly Willoughby as well as his employers about a secret relationship with a much younger ITV colleague.

After taking part in two bombshell interviews with The Sun and the BBC, Eamonn blasted the "lies" admitted to by his former co-star during his GB News breakfast show with co-star Isabel Webster. He also took aim at Holly ahead what was a tearful return to This Morning as she issued statement, putting in a scathing dig: "You think she's got a big mouth? She won't be using it today."

After sharing his thoughts, Eamonn has since returned to social media with a post in which he asked followers to vote for his TV breakfast show to receive an award. The image revealed he and Isabel had been nominated for a National Reality TV Award for Best News Programme.

He kicked off his post by writing in the caption: "Let’s face it… it doesn’t get more real than us!" He then added: "Your support for Isabel and me would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance... Vote via the website if u can."

But his choice of words didn't go down too well with everyone as one follower replied: "I’m really disappointed too in the recent behaviour and unnecessary comments. Contributing to the persecution of another person, I Don’t feel a vote is really deserved at the minute. Shame for Isabelle though."

However, Eamonn didn't seem to agree as he popped back: "Sue, I'm sorry u have difficulty in understanding who was persecuted." But he appeared not to address any more of the negative comments as he continued to respond to other comments including one from Tonia Buxton which read: "Team Eamonn & Isabel all the way."
