Familiar face Reg McLaren was back in Jeanfield colours on Saturday and helped the club return to winning ways.
The striker, who returned on Thursday after a spell with East Kilbride, was straight in from the start for the Premier Division tussle at Dundonald Bluebell.
While he was not on the scoresheet in the 2-0 win - Aaron Whitehead and Kieran Sweeney took that honour - his presence was very much welcomed by manager Ross Gunnion.
“Reg made his return and we couldn’t be happier seeing him back,” Gunnion told the PA.
“He signed on Thursday and came down with Connor to do some work ahead of the game which shows you the commitment and determination to do well both of them have.
“I thought Reg and Connor linked well and he’ll be a huge asset in the run in if he continues to lead the line like he did on Saturday.
“We should have scored a few in the first half but it was pleasing to see both Aaron Whitehead and Kieran Sweeney show their strength in the opposition box as well as defending our own.”
Youngster Evan Wolecki had been rewarded with a start after impressing against Linlithgow Rose midweek.
“He impressed again,” Gunnion said. “Adam Leese, Scott Logan and Elliot Scott all came off the bench to contribute to the win and clean sheet as well.
“It was great to bounce back with a victory and all credit goes to the players for their effort and attitude.
“We started the game missing 10 players, but those that played were outstanding and controlled the game against a very strong opponent from the outset.”
