Strictly star says ‘no one is interested in your drama’ after marriage breakdown

  • Morning Live presenter Helen Skelton revealed the "best lesson" she learned from her participation in Strictly Come Dancing in 2022, which took place months after her marriage breakdown.
  • Skelton joined the dancing competition following her sudden split from husband Richie Myler, using the show as a significant "distraction" for herself and her children from the heartbreak.

  • Skelton reached the final of the 2022 series, becoming a much-loved fan favourite, though wildlife presenter Hamza Yassin ultimately took home the Glitterball trophy.
  • During her time on the show, Skelton alluded to her challenging year before a memorable Musicals Week performance, and her professional partner Gorka Marquez also referenced her difficult period, prompting her later comments on public sharing.
