Former Strictly Come Dancing star Molly Rainford is set to join the cast of BBC One soap-opera EastEnders. It is rumoured that the 22-year-old singer and actress will become part of a ‘new family’ that arrives on Albert Square to take ownership of the Queen Vic.
Last Christmas, former Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter exited the show in a storyline that left viewers questioning whether he is alive or not. You can read more about that here.
Discussing Molly’s apparent new role in EastEnders, a TV insider told The Sun: “Molly joins a long line of former finalists who've gone on to bigger things than the competitors who've ultimately triumphed. But anyone who saw her on Strictly could see that the entertainment world was her oyster.”

Meanwhile, The Daily Mail has reported that Hollywood actor Ray Winstone will also be joining EastEnders. Earlier this week, it emerged that the actor, who is known for roles in Scum (1979) and Sexy Beast (2000), could be replacing Danny Dyer.
The actor will supposedly play the patriarch of a family that features other new characters, including Molly. Despite this, sources at the BBC have insisted that there are no plans for Winstone to appear. However, they have previously dampened such rumours about other big-name signings, only for them to be announced officially shortly afterwards.
EastEnders is currently in the midst of a huge storyline that will see one character lose their life at Christmas. In a first for the soap, a ‘flash-forward’ scene has teased six potential killers - Stacey Slater, Denise Fox, Suki Panesar, Kathy Beale, Sharon Watts and Linda Carter.
