Strictly Come Dancing pro Nikita Kuzmin has addressed whether his former celebrity partner Dani Dyer would be returning to the ballroom later this year amid reports.
The daughter of Rivals star Danny Dyer broke her ankle in the 2025 series and had to pull out before the first week of the competition started.
On Monday, sources said the 29-year-old was “gutted” to have quit Strictly, but could return to the show this year, according to The Sun.
“She never got a chance to do a single show or a dance for the judges so when the door was opened for her again by the BBC she jumped at the chance,” a source told the newspaper.
“Dani hasn’t signed her contract yet but she’s clearing her diary and has told the BBC she wants in.”
And now Kuzmin, who was partnered with the TV personality in 2025 prior to her injury, has weighed in on the reports.
Appearing on Tuesday’s Good Morning Britain, the Ukrainian dancer, 28, was asked by show hosts Ranvir Singh and Tom Swarbrick whether there was any truth to the former Love Island star’s return.
The pro, who has been on Strictly since 2021, said: “I don't know. I mean, I wish I would know. But, guys, we honestly don't know anything.”
Aside from news Dyer could be gearing up for a second chance on the dancefloor, Kuzmin was also asked to give his verdict on the new Strictly Come Dancing hosting line-up.
Last week it was announced that presenter Emma Willis and comedian Josh Widdicombe would take to the BBC show’s helm alongside pro Johannes Radebe.
“Epic. Absolutely epic,” Kuzmin responded.
“So excited. Obviously Tess [Daly] and Claudia [Winkleman] are legendary so to go with Emma [Willis], Josh [Widdicombe]and Jojo [Johannes Radebe] is absolutely epic.
“Plus Jojo, y’know, we know him so well. It’s just so, so lovely.”
When Singh inquired whether Radebe’s role on the presenting line-up would included dancing, Kuzmin reiterated that his fellow pro will be great at whatever he turns his hand to.
“Jojo will never stop dancing,” he continued. “I’m sure he’ll present, Johannes will be fantastic at whatever he does.”
