Tess Daly could well have put the kibosh on Tyler West's Strictly Come Dancing chances as she broke the news that he was the highest scoring male star of the series so far.
KISS FM host Tyler has been consistently near the top of the Strictly leaderboard since week one, with him and pro partner Dianne Buswell delivering some eye-catching and high scoring routines. They have topped the standings and went close again with their UK Garage themed Couple's Choice last weekend.
The couple were aiming to keep up their own high standard with a tango to the Doctor Who theme tune on Saturday night, with the song choice in celebration of the BBC's 100th birthday. Tyler and Dianne looked the part with him as the Doctor and her as the Weeping Angel.

As they got their breath back at the end of the performance, host Tess had an announcement for Tyler when she revealed to him he was the male contestant who'd earned the highest scores of the series so far. Quick to react to her news, judge Anton Du Beke replied: "It could go badly from this point couldn't it?!" before adding: "Fortunately for him, it was marvellous."
While Tyler and Dianne have received numerous 10s in previous weeks, there were none to be had this week as each judge awarded an 8, giving them a total of 32.
Reacting to their performance and the scores awarded for it, one fan took to Twitter to post: "Tyler and Dianne did their best, but you just can't get a proper tango vibe to the bloody Doctor Who theme," with a second tweeting: "Tyler and Dianne should have gotten more points for that Tango !!"
