Strictly Come Dancing head judge Shirley Ballas has teased what the BBC show has in store this year. The 62-year-old, who has been on the show since 2017, chatted to Holly Willoughby and Alison Hammond on ITV’s This Morning on Monday, March 27.
After talking about her new book Murder on the Dancefloor and the abuse she has received on social media - which you can read more about here - conversation soon turned to Strictly. “Strictly will be back. I mean, there’s already [speculation] - I think Peter Crouch is speculated to appear, Gino might be doing it. I mean obviously you can't confirm…” Holly said and Shirley cheekily smiled.
“Go on Shirley, what you got for us?” Alison asked and Shirley replied: “You know I can’t”. Holly then questioned: “Well you’re not thinking of not being there?” and the head judge said: “Well, we’re waiting for that invitation. I love the job and I love the actual critiquing, as Alison knows, and I love to give tips and help people along the way.”

While Shirley gave very little away about the upcoming series, she did admit: “The lineup for sure… Just when you think it couldn’t get any better, it does! I’m just saying.” Alison then joked that co-host Holly could be on the next series but she declined. The confirmed line-up is usually revealed in mid-late summer.
Strictly’s last series was won by Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystał. The pair were joined in the series final by Fleur East and Vito Coppola, Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu, and Helen Skelton and Gorka Marquez.
