Strictly Come Dancing professional Nadiya Bychkova has split from her fiancé and is being comforted by her colleague Kai Widdrington.
Bychkova, who was partnered in the most recent series of the show with BBC Breakfast host Dan Walker, has parted ways with her fiancé Matija Škarabot.
It is thought early morning man Dan became a confidant for the dancer during the difficult time.
Widdrington, who is also a pro on Strictly Come Dancing, is thought to have a close relationship with Nadiya. A source told the Sun : "Nadiya and Kai have incredible chemistry, and a very strong friendship.
“Right from week one they connected, and are always laughing and messing about.
“Nadiya and Matija actually separated months ago and obviously Nadiya confided in Dan at the time... Kai, meanwhile, has also been brilliant - and she confided in him throughout the series. He has cheered her up and made her smile again. They’re great mates, and lots of people backstage think they’d make a really cute couple when the time is right."
Kai and Nadyia's close bond has, of course, sparked rumours about the pair, but what do we actually know about his love life?
Kai Widdrington's love life
At the time of writing Kai, 26, is believed to be single. Following a sensational same-sex dance inspired by Bridgerton during the last series, his partner for the performance, Johannes Radebe, wrote: "Thank you for holding me up boo and ladies he is single ;) X."
Before this, however, Kai dated fellow dancer Giulia Dotta for five years.
In July the Mirror reported that the pair had decided to call it a day during lockdown several months beforehand. The pair are thought to have remained on "good terms".
Kai and Giulia used to compete together on Dancing With The Stars Ireland.
During the running of 2021's series 19 of Strictly, rumours circulated aggressively about the relationship between Kai and his dance partner AJ Odudu.
The rumour mill was sent into overdrive further when, shortly before the series' semi-final in December, AJ told the Sun: “Oh my gosh, my direct messages are dry.
“I’ve not had one direct message from a potential suitor, that is not happening.”
Aj followed up to the Sun on why she thought the bloke of her dreams hadn't got in touch: "He’s witnessed me wrap my legs around Kai every single week!”
On the movie night week of the show, microphones picked up Kai whispering in AJ's ear: “I love you so much.”
The interest around Kai's love life seems to never end after images have surfaced of him and Strictly Come Dancing tour partner Maisie Smith cuddling after rehearsals.
