Strictly Come Dancing fans are declaring that Kai Widdrington has 'justice' in the ballroom, after winning the show's Christmas special on Sunday evening.
With the dust now settled on another series of Strictly, after Hamza and Jowita lifted the Glitterball trophy last weekend, fans of the much loved BBC programme were relying on the annual Christmas special to fill the Strictly void in their life and it certainly delivered, with a show packed with great dances, loads of festive cheer and an even an attention-grabbing return for former judge Bruno Tonioli.
Unlike in past years when former contestants have returned to the fold to try and get their hands on the Christmas trophy, the celebrity line-up was made up entirely of stars who'd never been on Strictly before: CBBC star George Webster, podcast queen Rosie Ramsey, DJ Rickie Haywood-Williams, Coronation Street's Alexandra Mardell, Gavin & Stacey and EastEnders legend Larry Lamb and Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts.

Kai danced with ex Corrie favourite Alexandra, with the couple having the job of performing last, after some brilliant routines from the likes of Rosie and Neil and Nicola and Giovanni. Kai and Alexandra got the highest score of the night, a perfect 40 out of 40 for their Quickstep to Sleigh Ride and the judges' leaderboard was reflected in the studio audience vote, with them being announced as winners.
Kai has had a rollercoaster of a time since joining Strictly as a pro last year. He made it all the way to the final with AJ Odudu last year, only for the pair to have to watch from the sidelines after an agonising injury just days before. And then Kai was dealt a further blow this year, when he and celeb partner Kaye Adams were the first couple to get the ballroom boot.
Addressing those factors while celebrating his win, one fan tweeted: "Glad Kai got a win after missing out on the final with AJ and going home first this series," with another posting: "Awww yay. Small justice for last year. I’ll take it"
