Helen Skelton issued a short but sweet statement after missing out on lifting the Glitterball Trophy last night [December 17].
The Strictly Come Dancing star, 39, wowed the show's judges and viewers alike during the live final, thanks to three stunning performances with her professional dance partner Gorka Márquez.
But the voting public decided to back Hamza Yassin, 33, and his professional dance partner Jowita Przystał instead, as they beat Helen, Molly Rainford, Fleur East and their respective partners to be crowned the winners of this year's series of the BBC show.
The result came as a shock to many fans of the show who had expected mum-of-three Helen to finish off her year on a high, following 12 months of ups and down for the former Blue Peter presenter.
Helen cut a glum figure as she was pictured leaving her hotel today alongside her Strictly co-stars and heading into a waiting car, amid dance partner Gorka breaking his silence regarding his 'glum reaction' to Hamza's win.
But over on social media, Helen is her usual smiley, positive self as she returns to her usual routine following last night's final.
The mum-of-three has been busy reposting snaps and videos from her night out on her Instagram Stories, in addition to returning to the airwaves thanks to her gig on Radio 5 Live.
Over on Twitter, Helen broke her silence as she shared a snap originally shared by fellow finalist Molly with her followers on the social media site.
"My fellow finalists -@FleurEast @HelenSkelton @HamzaYassin3," Molly captioned as snap of the four finalists alongside their respective dance partners. "I couldn’t have asked to be in the final with a better group of people."
Helen seemingly agreed, as she shared the post and added: "Squad."
Helen had been one of the favourites to win ahead of the final taking place last night, thanks to the nation falling in love with the presenter after a tough year amid the breakdown of her marriage.
As she closed the show earlier, Helen thanked her partner Gorka for his support throughout the series and called him a credit to the Strictly family.
Gorka broke his silence online earlier today, after viewers accused the Spanish dancer of appearing to look disappointed as Hamza was crowned this year's winner.
Captioning a collection of images of himself and Helen, Gorka wrote: "Oh… Where to start, It’s has been a incredible journey. I feel so grateful I got not only to dance with you @helenskelton but also to be by your side in your own personal journey and see your transformation from day one.
"Thank you for all the memories, laughs, coffees, toast, parent chats, car journeys.
"Like I said yesterday In the show you’re a special person who light up a room when walks in and I am so proud you got to smile and shine again.
"I’ve loved every single moment dancing with you and I am so proud of us until the last dance! You’re a Star."
He added: "Big congratulations!! to the @bbcstrictly champions @jowitaprzystal @hamzayassin90 you guys have been amazing the whole series and deserve it."

She explained to the Mirror how the voting public will not have liked seemingly being told who to crown their winner and voted Hamza to defy the judges' wishes.
