Strictly's Helen Skelton admits she'll find it difficult getting close to dance partner

Helen Skelton has teased that allowing her dance partner into her personal space has proved quite a challenge whilst they have been rehearsing for Strictly Come Dancing.

The TV presenter, 39, is part of the line-up for the new series of the BBC show. Rehearsals have been underway for a short while but fans don't yet know who her dance partner is.

Her participation comes following her separation from husband Richie Myler, 32. The former couple - who got married in 2013 - have three young children together.

She has thrown herself into the dance competition since announcing their split. Helen however has revealed that the experience has presented a challenge though.

She's admitted that allowing her dance partner into her personal space has proved difficult. She said recently: "Yesterday when we were getting close, my partner was like 'every time I get close to you, you jump away'."

Helen said that she told her partner - who has yet to be unveiled - that they each have their own space. She noted that it's something that they will have to get used to.

The former Blue Peter presenter explained: "Things like that are what you have to get used to." She further commented about it: "I think that'll be the challenge."

The launch of this year's Strictly had been due to air earlier this month but was postponed. It came following the news that Queen Elizabeth II had died on September 8.

It will now be broadcast on Friday (September 23). The episode will reveal which professional dancer each of the celebrities has been partnered with in the BBC competition.

The pre-recorded episode will be followed by the first live show on Saturday evening (September 24). That will feature the debut routines of the participating contestants.
