Strictly Come Dancing champion Hamza Yassin has admitted he's still coming to grips with this weekend's result after he lifted the glitterball amid a 'fix' claim.
The wildlife cameraman, 32, stunned viewers throughout the series, but failed to hit the same height on the final showdown, leading many to be left unhappy as he was named winner alongside Jowita Przystal.
But despite a number of viewers hitting out over the "fixed" result, Hamza ignored the comments and instead took the time to issue a heartfelt message to all those who supported him on his journey.
Taking to Instagram, he began: "I am still trying to comprehend what happened last night."
He then took the time to praise his dance partner Jowita, who he praised as an "angel disguised as a human being" and a "ray of sunshine".
"Thank you for your trust and guidance throughout this incredible journey," he continued. "You shone a light for me that got me through some tough weeks and you have been by my side every step of the way.
"You will go on to do great things in your life. It was my pleasure to be your student. I will forever be grateful for how you have changed my life."
Next up on his list of thanks was the entire Strictly team for the opportunity given to him, closely followed be the judges for their comments and tips throughout the series. He also said thanks to all who voted for him, helping him lift the trophy and build strong friendships on his journey.
He added: "And finally I would like to thank all of my fellow Strictly 2022 classmates. You are ALL winners! I am thankful to have had the chance to get to know you wonderful people. This is not the end but the beginning of a lifetime of friendships, dinners and celebrations."
Hamza concluded his post: "From the bottom of my heart thank you very much. Pigeon-toed Hamza. Xxx"
The result had been predicted throughout the series, which was one of the closest to date. However, on the night of the final, it was the belief of many that he should have been pipped to the post.
And that's an opinion fellow finalist Helen Skelton appeared to share. Helen, 39, and her pro partner Gorka Marquez had been one of the favourites to win the show, but the presenter seemingly thought Fleur East should have been the winner on the night.
Fans were quick to notice Helen liking a tweet by ex Strictly dancer Robin Windsor, which read: "Based on tonight fleur and Vito should take home that mirror ball."
