Strictly's Gorka Marquez left 'broken' by training with Helen Skelton after 'scary' moment

Gorka Marquez had been 'broken' by Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals with Helen Skelton this week, after admitting to having a 'scary' moment on the show over the weekend.

One of the most talked about couples on the new series of Strictly, Helen and Gorka have been very open about their struggles so far, with Countryfile host Helen fleeing rehearsals through a fire exit before the first live show and then being hit by a real crisis of confidence, as Gorka and the judges willed her to have more self belief.

Helen had a major Strictly 'breakthrough ' as the show staged its BBC 100th Birthday special, with her and Gorka receiving their highest score so far and topping the leaderboard, after doing a Charleston to the theme tune from Blue Peter, the programme that gave Helen her big TV break.

On Saturday night, Helen and Gorka danced a Foxtrot while dressed as Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf and avoided the dance-off once again, although there was nervous moment as they and James Bye and Amy Dowden, who were eventually voted out, were left standing waiting to find out who would join Fleur East in the bottom two.

In the aftermath of the results show, Gorka took to Instagram to write: "that was a bit scary," and since then he and Helen have flung themselves into training for their next dance - a Jive to Janelle Monae track Tightrope. Gorka gave his social media followers a rehearsal room update on how things have been going on Tuesday evening.

The former Strictly finalist told fans: "We've just finished rehearsals...well rehearsals finished us, I will say. Appearing on camera, Helen commented: "It was a big day. My legs are jelly."

Turning the phone back on him, Gorka remarked: "Mine have fallen off; I've lost them." Elaborating on how much training has taken it out of Gorka, Helen then commented: "It's really rewarding when you're broken as well."

Protesting, Gorka replied: "I didn't say I'm broken, my legs have fell off," as Helen, in turn, whispered: "He's broken." Gorka added: "Eight hours of jive quite intense, but very good; routine is looking good, having fun doing it. I can't even stand up I'm so tired" as, keeping positive, Helen said: "It's a good song, good routine, good hat work."
